Description

Dark green, glossy leaves of summer are distinctive for their sharply pointed lobes. Scarlet Oak generally displays the finest fall color of all the oaks, delivering brilliant, deep tones of red to scarlet purple in late autumn. Even though this is a deciduous tree it often will hold its leaves all winter and the new growth will push off the older leaves in the spring.
